Great Adventures!

We've been so busy over the past few days, we even forgot to Blog!
Right, so here goes...
We been very busy with a brilliant group since Sunday evening, when they arrived pretty late, but raring to go!
Tuesday, headed out the crags and lakes. We looked at trusting each other on the climbs, and then pushed each other in on the Sit On Top Kayaks.

You can feel the concentration.
Balance!

Wednesday has seen go to the mine ( Rhiwbach), near Betws-y-Coed. Exploring the old slate workings, learning to some tall tales and even crossing an underground lake in an old raft!
Its a waterfall!

Drilling for gold?

The other group headed to the coast,. where we encountered some pretty big waves ( they helped us jump in better) and explored the coastline on the amazing Isle of Anglesey. Oh, they sang a lot too!

Helping each other at the Range!

Coasteering- Hooray!

Two groups in the gorge

With the temperatures still mild, and 2 fresh groups ready to get stuck in, we drove to the Afon Ddu Gorge. The group had a blast scrambling up, crawling through and sliding down the gorge.
The emphasis for this week is on building self-confidence, push yourself out of your comfort zone and learning how to work and live with others.
We made a good start with that in the gorge, as some found challenging waterfalls to climb up, and we had our first feel of a bit of rock climbing, in the way of a slippery rocky scramble with the security of a rope. Hopefully tomorrow it will be dry so we can continue with challenging our fear of heights, climbing up the rock face.
After dinner the groups did the nightline, following an obstacle course with blindfolds on, needing communication amongst the group to stay together and find out what is coming up.
After that the group had a chance to fit some climbing shoes ready for tomorrow, and get a feel for them in our own little climbing room.
A good start of the week!

Trustfall

Might as well have some fun whilst were here

Do we really have to climb that? No, there's a way around

Gorgeous adventure

First day adventures for our groups today.
Two of which went exploring out local gorge, climbing up falls, sliding down the water slides and jumping in the big lake at the top.
Our final group went out to explore Cwm Idwal and check out the mountains of North Wales. After that, teamwork took over as they assembled their raft, which successfully passed all the test.

Mountain Madness

Fantastic final day for both our groups, who headed in the mountains to enjoy the wild weather and learn some navigation, and geography.

Our first group headed up Pen Yr Helgi Du, whilst I second group conquered their first summit of Crimpiau (which was far easy for them), to then go up a to a second summit at Craig Wen.

Lets go high

Todays adventures were focused around rock, with lots of climbing and abseiling at our local crags.

Luckily the weather brightened up, with even patches of sunshine to allow all this to happen.

Great to see lots of students push themselves out of their comfort zones, doing things they previous said were 'impossible', all with the fantastic support of the team.

Mountain Mission

Adventurous educational day for all our group who headed up into the Glyder mountain range today.
